About The Event
What did humans do before modern day refrigeration? Humans have been preserving food in various forms dating as far back as 1200 BCE. Fermentation was, and still remains today as the “bread and butter” of food preservation—pun intended. Bread, cheese, yogurt, kimchi, sauerkraut, vinegar, wine, and beer are just a few of the many foods derived from the process of fermentation. Whether you’re interested in the microbiology, the health benefits, or the plethora of culinary applications, we hope you join us in this week’s Growing Gardeners Workshop, Fermentation 101.
This workshop is part of the Culinary + Nutrition track of Growing Gardeners. Growing Gardeners is a collaborative education program ran by City Sprouts and The Big Garden in Omaha, Nebraska.
This online workshop is free, but donations are encouraged to contribute to the cost of supplies and resources!
